Aristotle advised those composing speeches to organize them into introduction, body and conclusion sections. He said to tell people what you will say, communicate the message and then restate what you’ve said. Writers of both non-fiction and fiction use this formula, just in different ways.
This advice is universal because it’s based on the belief that we need to prepare others to hear our story, then deliver it and provide closure. Remember that we are storytellers and readers by nature. Relationships are like bridges that connect us to people, but stories often start them.


Write in your own voice. Use your own original language and style. Avoid cliches. You are like a beautiful rose that has its own special qualities.



State your publishing goals. Identify specific strategies to reach them. List resources needed. Set deadlines. Do this regularly for the current year and each of the five upcoming ones.
